Before I was old enough to even understand who Jesus was, I knew He loved me.

Much like a handmade quilt, He was gently woven into my life, His love, mirrored in the faces of those closest to me. Never has He left my side, yet there have been times when I’ve strayed, ultimately finding myself amidst the mud and mire, but as David wrote so aptly in Psalm 40, Waiting patiently, He heard my cry and lifted me out, setting my feet on a solid rock. Each day He gives me a new song to sing!

 

Born in East Saint Louis Illinois in 1955, we moved to LaGrange, Georgia eight years later, as my mother was missing her family. In 1986, we settled in mountains of North Georgia, and have since called Gainesville, Georgia home. Blessed with a wonderful husband, three beautiful ‘grown’ daughters, and three grandchildren I simply adore, each day is a new adventure.

 

Writing has been a passion since my late teens, becoming more prevalent with each passing year.

Talent? Possibly. God-given? Most assuredly. My first poem published was about Joy, my oldest child and her snaggle-toothed smile. and was entitled ‘A Mother’s Joy.’

It seems as though ‘time truly does fly’ as you grow older.

Now approaching 'upper middle age, I do so somewhat hesitantly, for I am still, if nothing else, young at heart. Wrinkles? I think not! Laugh lines? Too many to count! As I rejoice in God's beauty all around me, I strive to simplify my life! Baggage free with the past behind me, I press on, living each day with such an unspeakable joy, I find myself 'barely containable' at times. It is THIS 'Joy' I wish to share through my writing and photography, with you, your friends and loved ones. With over sixty verses to choose from I welcome any suggestions you may have for sharing in verse. This is one area in my life where God has allowed me to shine for Him, and what a privilege it is!
